WHAT IS THE 2030 SDGs GAME?
The 2030 SDGs Game is a multiplayer, in-person, card-based game that simulates taking the real world into the year 2030.
Designed in Japan in 2016, this experience has become a powerful and impactful social phenomenon in Japan, earning extensive media coverage and reaching over 30,000 participants for last two years.
2030 SDGs Game events are held in corporate, governmental, educational, and community settings, and now has over 100 trained facilitators in a rapidly growing community within Japan.
Now, due to a growing demand to bring the game to the rest of the world, we have created an English edition and are beginning to introduce it to a wider audience.
The game will be played as teams simulating the views, resources and challenges that countries in real world may have. The players are dealt with some time, money and projects cards to start with to achieve their goals during the game. Players work together to explore how the world can achieve the sustainability goals of the UN. These goals are the action plans for the 193 United Nations members to achieve within 2016-2030 and consist of 17 goals and 169 targets to achieve the goals. Success means a prosperous, equitable and sustainable world in 2030.
